What is an Activity Target and Performance Target?

Performance Target: the minimum bankroll growth, or profit, that must be achieved within a level. Progress is calculated by aggregating the results of all Settled Picks in the level (total amount won minus total amount lost).

  • Example: A level’s Performance Target is $150. So far 5 picks have settled in the level, with 3 winning picks generating $300 in total winnings and 2 losing picks generating $200 in total losses. Progress toward the Performance Target is $100, or 67% ($300 won - $200 lost = $100 profit ; $100 profit / $150 required = 67% progress).

Activity Target: the minimum total value that must be settled within a level. Progress is calculated by aggregating the total value of all picks placed and settled within a level.

Example: A level’s Activity Target is $500. So far you’ve placed 6 picks in the level for $100 each––4 of the 6 picks have settled and 2 remain open. Progress toward the Activity Target is $400, or 80% (4 picks settled * $100 each = $400 activity). Note that only the value of Settled Picks count toward Activity progress, not the value of Open Picks. When the 2 remaining Open Picks settle, total Settled Pick value will increase to $600, satisfying the level’s Activity Target.

Drawdown vs. Loss Limit (A Crucial Advantage)

Unlike many other platforms that enforce a trailing Drawdown Limit, Bankroll U provides users a significant advantage by applying a Loss Limit instead. What's the difference? A Drawdown Limit is enforced from an account’s highest peak while a Loss Limit is enforced from where an account actually started.

  • Drawdown Limit: Other platforms often enforce a trailing 10% Max Drawdown, meaning accounts that dip 10% from their highest peak automatically fail (even if they remain profitable overall).
  • Bankroll U Loss Limit: The maximum allowable net loss in a level. Bankroll U allows a net loss up to your entire initial account size in all levels (e.g., if you’re playing a $1K Bankroll, you can lose up to $1,000 in all levels).

To illustrate the benefit of Bankroll U’s Loss Limit, consider two scenarios for a user starting a challenge with a $1,000 bankroll:

Scenario 1: To begin the challenge, the user places 3 picks and nets a loss of $100 (2 losing picks totaling -$200 and 1 winning pick for $100):

  • Bankroll U Loss Limit: The user is allowed a net loss up to the initial account size, or $1,000. They have $900 remaining before failure is triggered.
    • 10% Max Drawdown platforms: The user fails the challenge. A $100 net loss from the $1,000 peak triggers enforcement of the 10% trailing drawdown limit.
  • Question to consider: If you purchase a “$1,000” account but are eliminated after losing just $100, did you truly receive a $1,000 account?

Scenario 2: The bankroll grows from $1,000 to a peak of $1,500, then dips to $1,200 due to a brief cold streak (still a $200 profit overall):

  • Bankroll U Loss Limit: The Loss Limit is not relevant because the account is profitable. A $1,200 cushion now exists before the Loss Limit would be triggered.
  • 10% Max Drawdown platforms: The user fails the challenge. Despite achieving overall profitability, a drop from the $1,500 peak to the $1,200 current balance (a $300 drawdown) triggers enforcement of the 10% trailing limit.

Question to consider: Does it make sense for a skill-based challenge to assign failure based on a small sample of recent outcomes rather than overall performance?

What makes Bankroll U different from other platforms?

Bankroll U is built around evaluation and progression, not deposits and losses.

Instead of risking your own money on every pick, you purchase access to a Combine and prove your skill by hitting structured targets. If you perform, you gain free admission to the Pro Levels and keep an increasing percentage of the profits you generate.

We set clear activity targets, transparent profit goals, and enforce a generous 100% loss limit. That means you are evaluated on overall performance, not eliminated because of short term variance.

Our model is built around disciplined progression and long term performance.
